Resilience in Discrete Event Systems

چکیده

This paper explores the notion of resilience a fault in DES, as ability to spontaneously return normal behavior, without leaking information about this occurrence an external observer. Resilience expresses some form insensitivity or robustness, related but different from classical notions like diagnosability opacity. Different definitions are examined, expressed terms recovery points language relations. It is shown that verifying PSPACE-complete. However, complexity reduces PTIME for recently introduced history deterministic automata, sub-class NFA. We examine detail instructive pathway reduction, which could be instrumental reduction other DES problems.

Recent Developments in Discrete Event Systems

This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...

Decentralized prognosis of fuzzy discrete-event systems

This paper gives a decentralized approach to the problem of failure prognosis in the framework of fuzzy discrete event systems (FDES). A notion of co-predictability is formalized for decentralized prognosis of FDESs, where several local agents with fuzzy observability rather than crisp observability are used in the prognosis task. An FDES is said to be co-predictable if each faulty event can be...

Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems

Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...

Discrete-Event Systems

In many application domains events are not Poisson distributed. For some applications it even makes sense to (more or less) assume that events are distributed in the worst possible way (e.g. in networks, packets often arrive in bursts). In this Section we study systems from a worst-case perspective. In particular, we analyze the price of not being able to foresee the future. This is a phenomeno...
